EuroPython Food
It's always a problem deciding what food to order for conferences: the delegates are mostly male, geeks often have substantial appetites, and at this year's EuroPython we have around 400 delegates to feed during lunch, so turnround is going to be a problem.
- So after a lot of discussion, for EuroPython 2009 we've decided to go for what is essentially British peasant food: simple, satisfying, sustaining and quick to serve. For the three days of the main conference our lunches will be:
- Cornish pasty http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasty followed by strawberries and clotted cream http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clotted_cream. The pasties are being especially shipped from God's own county of Cornwall
- Lancashire hotpot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancashire_Hotpot with summer fruits crumble as dessert
- Fish and chips http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_and_chips and a fruit dessert.
